Food Product Development

Our Food Product Developers come up with new products, and think of ways to make all our customers’ favourites even better.

What will I be doing?
As a Trainee Food Product Developer, you’ll spend at least two years working across our different food areas. You’ll work with a team to come up with delicious new products, as well as helping improve existing products when they need it. And you’ll keep an eye on the latest food trends to make sure there’s nothing we’re missing out on.

A big part of your training will be getting a good understanding of the market and different categories. You’ll work closely with our suppliers – sometimes travelling across the world to meet them. And you’ll spend time in our stores so you know exactly where your products will end up.

Where will I be based?
You’ll be at our Head Office in London.

What training will I get?
Lots of your learning will be done on-the-job, just by getting stuck in and working with experienced food product developers. But you’ll also get in-house and internal training.

What are you looking for?
We’ll expect you to have a food-related qualification, but most importantly you also need to be creative and really passionate about food. You’ll also be good at talking to people and explaining your ideas.

If you’re the kind of person who likes working through problems and coming up with new and innovative solutions, then even better.

What happens at the end of the scheme?
At the end of your training, we’ll give you a job as a Food Product Developer in
one of our food areas. From there, we’ll give you the chance to work in different areas to get more experience, and help you move through different roles when you’re ready.
